Katie Brough
Program Director
It is with great joy and commitment that I am part of Candlelight Ranch. Candlelight Ranch is a nurturing environment that inspires people of all ages and abilities to extend themselves creatively, cognitively and physically. I am consistently impressed by the magic and awe our visitors share with us as a result of their experiences on the ranch. I feel that people have no limitations; only opportunities for growth. I am in an amazing position to help facilitate that growth.
Katie Brough contributes to Candlelight Ranch as the Program Coordinator. She comes to us with a diverse background in special education, event planning and facilitative mediation. As a certified teacher she has over five years of experience working with children of varied disabilities ranging from medically fragile pre-school to “at risk” high school students. As a student of anthropology at San Francisco State University, she worked as volunteer at BOK Ranch where she practiced equestrian therapy and completed studies specific to the learning culture of people with special needs. Event planning enters her repertoire during her thirteen years in San Francisco catering for restaurants, wineries, private homes and public events. Since then, she has expanded her commitment to experiential learning with specialized endorsements in ROPES facilitation, conflict mediation and behavior management. Katie currently resides in the glorious Texas hill Country on Lake Travis. She is the wife of an active duty servicemen and mother of a fiery, red-headed five year old boy.
